Our Story
Welcome to INACHAR – A Family-Run Achar Venture
Meet the team behind INACHAR: Harleen, Kaashni, and Akrit – we are a family run venture driven by our love for food. At INACHAR, we believe that no meal is complete without achar (pickles).
Our Story: Crafted with Care
It all started amidst the pandemic (glad that’s behind us)! There was a serious void created by the inability to travel and bring back homemade achars. That's when we had our "light bulb moment." We decided to open a small batch pickle business in Singapore!
We take pride in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene. No artificial additives, preservatives, or nuts – just age old recipes that bring the flavours of home to your table!
Explore our selection of achars, each crafted to add flavour to your meals. From tangy tomato to fiery chilli and comforting mango, INACHAR has something for every palate. Join us on a flavourful journey. Explore our timeless achars and enjoy the taste of home, wherever you are!
Fact finder: What Is Achar?
Achars are intensely flavoured preserved foods made by fermenting fruits and vegetables with salt, oil, and spices, creating signature tangy-spicy flavour profiles that complement diverse meals.
The name "achar" comes from Persian "āchār" (阿查尔), (ஆச்சார்), (आचार), (آچار), (ਆਚਾਰ) (meaning pickled fruits), adopted during medieval Mughal influence, though the preservation technique predates the name by millennia in India. Much like how grandmothers everywhere claim to have the best recipe, each Indian family guards their achar recipe as if it contains state secrets—because frankly, a good mango pickle might be worth more than gold during off-season!
We want to share those age old traditions merged with Asian inspired flavours with you!
